Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has received several offers from Italy, according to his agent. Vermaelen has struggled for game time this season and has been considering his future at the club. The centre-back was the subject of intense media speculation he would be leaving the Gunners in January but decided to stay put and fight for his place. Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli are understood to be at the front of the queue to land the talented star, while Manchester United are pondering a move. The 28-year-old only has a year left on his contract and would cost around 12m with his wages likely to be 3m a year.“Many Italian clubs have shown an interest,” the player’s agent Alex Kroes told La Repubblica. “But we’ll have to wait until after the World Cup to discuss Thomas’ future.”Read more Arsenal transfer news.
