Arsenal star Bacary Sagna is ready to seal his monster move to Premier League rivals Manchester City after turning down the Gunners final offer. The 31-year-old will earn 150,000 a week with the English champions after months of speculation over his future. Sagna felt moved to deny claims in French newspaper L’Equipe that a move to City had been agreed but sources have now confirmed the defender will not extend his stay at Arsenal. The deal means the right-back will virtually double what he was earning at the Gunners while he has the benefit of a three year deal, with Arsenal only able to offer a one year contract. He follows a host of players who have switched Arsenal for City in recenty seasons after Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri made the switch. The loss of one of the bedrocks of the team – an ever present in the side since he was signed from Auxerre in 2007 – will leave Arsene Wenger stepping up his efforts to land Toulouse star Serge Aurier as a replacement. Read more Arsenal transfer news.
