Arsenal are ready to seal a deal for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The Premier League side have held a long-term interest in Real Madrid and Spanish U21 striker Alvaro Morata but hopes of a deal had seemingly failed after Italian side Juventus gained ground.
However, it is now understood that after club president Florentino Perez discussed the youngster’s future, that Arsenal are back in the race and have prepared a one-year loan deal that features a buying option. Perez told Onda Cero: “I have to talk to the coach and Morata to see what is best for everyone. “He then went on to add that Real Madrid were buoyed by Arsenal’s proposed deal, which could replicate a similar deal that saw Daniel Carvajal join Bayer Leverkusen and return to the club as an established first teamer. For example, what we did with Dani Carvajal was very positive, he left to play.

For us, if we sell someone it is to play, but the best place to do is Madrid.

Morata made just four starts for Madrid this season with another 24 appearances coming from the substitutes bench.
