The Premier League side have held a long-term interest in Real Madrid and Spanish U21 striker Alvaro Morata but hopes of a deal had seemingly failed after Italian side Juventus gained ground.
However, it is now understood that after club president Florentino Perez discussed the youngster’s future, that Arsenal are back in the race and have prepared a one-year loan deal that features a buying option. Perez told Onda Cero: “I have to talk to the coach and Morata to see what is best for everyone. “He then went on to add that Real Madrid were buoyed by Arsenal’s proposed deal, which could replicate a similar deal that saw Daniel Carvajal join Bayer Leverkusen and return to the club as an established first teamer.
