Arsenal are plotting a mega-money move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, [football] direct news understands. A source close to the Emirates Stadium told FDN the Gunners believe he can be lured away from France at the end of the season, after suffering a slump in form since the start of the year. The ex-Napoli man would cost the north London outfit the majority of the transfer budget at boss Arsene Wenger’s disposal but they are determined to add a world class striker to the ranks before the next campaign gets under way. Arsenal will attempt to secure his signature for less than the 55million PSG paid Serie A side Napoli almost a year ago and would also be willing to include fringe players in exchange as part of the deal, should his club express an interest in doing business. The 27-year-old still has more than four years remaining on his contract in the French capital and will come up against England if chosen for Uruguay in the World Cup group stages this summer.
