Loic Remy looks unlikely to receive a World Cup call-up for France after voters in L’Equipe preferred Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette. French striker Loic Remy has been in superb form this season on loan with Newcastle United and his future has been much discussed, with several meetings between him and Arsenal having taken place. However, whilst negotiations continue, Remy is waiting nervously on the release of France’s World Cup squad which will play in Brazil this summer. Yet, if L’Equipe’s recent voting on the squad is anything to by, the Queens Park Rangers striker will not be going. Remy appears last on a list of potential strikers to be included, with the likes of Karim Benzema, Antoine Griezmann, Olivier Giroud and Alexandre Lacazette preferred. Remy finished bottom of the voting with 23% but could be called up as a standby option by French boss Didier Deschamps.
