Arsenal can go a long way to claiming fourth spot tonight if they beat Newcastle United for a fifth successive time.
The Gunners have enjoyed a strong record against Newcastle, losing just four of 31 games in all competitions since the turn of the century between the two sides.  Newcastle last beat Arsenal in November 2010 at the Emirates Stadium with Andy Carroll scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win for the Magpies, who have since failed to beat the Gunners in six attempts.  Arsenal have won each of the last four games against Newcastle – Olivier Giroud scored in a 1-0 win for the north London side at St James’ Park earlier this season. A Laurent Koscielny goal gave Arsenal the exact same result at Newcastle in the preceding meeting between the two sides while the Gunners other victories read as 7-3 and 2-1 at the Emirates. Should Arsenal claim all three points the Arsene Wenger can almost certainly start planning for Champions League football next season as the Gunners would move four points ahead of Everton with just two games remaining.
