Arsenal and Manchester United will go head-to-head in the race to sign Italian midfielder Claudio Marchisio, [football] direct news understands. The Italy international has struggled for consistent playing time under Antonio Conte and rumours persist over a possible summer exit, with the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City all credited with interest. Whilst, Marchisio’s availibility has never been made known by the Serie A league leaders, it is highly expected that he will not see out his current contract which is due to expire in 2016. United boss David Moyes is keen to take a closer look at the 28-year-old but it is understood that Arsenal are also extremely keen.
