Wolfsburg are looking to muscle in on Arsenal target Mattia Destro after the club put in a 30m bid for the star. The 23-year-old enjoyed a fine season after scoring 13 Serie A goals in 20 games, attracting interest from a number of top European clubs. Arsenal have been tracking the star for some time and were considering making an offer for the player now the season has finished with the club keen to add extra fire-power to their attack and provide Olivier Giroud with competition. Atletico Madrid have also shown interest as they seemingly plan to replace Diego Costa, who looks increasingly likely to depart Spain for Chelsea this summer. However, Wolfsburg, who are keen to build on their fifth placed finish in the German league, lead the race after making their impressive offer, according to Tutto Mercato. But the star has hinted he prefers to stay in Italy, while Roma are ready to reject the offer in any event.
