Arsenal could hijack a proposed move from Barcelona to Everton for Cristian Tello as the Gunners remain keen on the youngster, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The 22-year-old forward has not quite lived up to expectations at the Nou Camp, failing to break past some stern competition for a regular starting spot in Barca’s attack to show the potential seen in him during his days as a youngster in the club’s La Masia youth academy.

A number of clubs were linked with loan moves the Spaniard last summer, though these never materialised and he ended up remaining at Barcelona for another season, though he has struggled for regular playing time and now looks likely to be sold.
There was talk that Tello could find his way to the Premier League with Everton in a swap deal involving Barca youngster Gerard Deulofeu, who has been on loan at Goodison Park this year.
However, Arsenal are long-term admirers of Tello and are in the market for new wide players this summer as they eye alternatives to the somewhat injury-prone Theo Walcott in that part of the pitch. With the Gunners and the Toffees both competing for the final Champions League place this season, it could be that whoever finishes fourth will then be the favourite to land Tello.
