The pressure is mounting on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after a disastrous 1,000th game in charge.
The Gunners got spanked 6-0 on Saturday by title rivals Chelsea to all but end their hopes of landing the Premier League trophy this season.
The game exposed some core problems in the Arsenal squad and was the third time they have succumbed to heavy defeats against their rivals this season. The Gunners recently lost 5-1 against Liverpool and 6-3 against Manchester City back in December.
There is much speculation that boss Wenger could finally bring an end to his 18 years in charge in north London. Wenger’s contract expires this summer and there is a suggestion he is ready to walk away, despite only last week insisting he would be in charge next season. Bookmakers are less certain and have given lengthy odds of 20/1 for Wenger will be the next Premier League manager to leave his post. Should Wenger decide to walk away Galatasaray’s Roberto Mancini (16/1) and Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp (10/1) remain among the favourites to take over at the Emirates.
