The Argentine centre-back has been in superb form for Sevilla this season and has gained heavy plaudits from a number of European clubs, including the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United. However, it looks certain that both are set to be beaten to a summer signing by Serie A side Fiorentina. The Italian side are keen to discuss a deal with Sevilla for Fazio and have become buoyed after they learned that the defender could leave the Andalusian club for around 10m. Another added bonus for Fiorentina is that Fazio holds an Italian passport, making a potential summer move seem more likely than first expected. Fazio, 27, joined Sevilla in 2007 from Argentine side Ferro Carril Oeste and he has impressed over his 149 appearances.
