Dejan Rakitic, Ivan Rakitic’s brother and agent, has not yet arrived in Seville where president of the Andalusian club, Jose Castro, was awaiting his arrival to hold crucial contract talks. Sevilla are trying their utmost to extend Rakitic’s current contract which is set to run out in the summer of 2015. However, it seems as though the player and his agent are unwilling to commit to Sevilla. With Croatian’s deal set to expire next June, Sevilla will be obligated to sell him or risk losing him on a free transfer the following year if they do not hold talks in the near future. Sevilla are growing increasingly anxious as the number of teams interested in the Croatian star continues to rise. Barcelona, Juventus and Chelsea are reportedly showing an interest in the playmaker to add to Real Madrid and Liverpool who were thought to be at a more advanced stage of discussions. Liverpool are keen admirers of the 26-year-old who is a prime target for Brendan Rodgers’ side. The club are also said to be considering offering youngster Suso in exchange for Rakitic.
