West Ham United are reportedly close to bolstering their much-maligned attack with the acquisition of AC Milan forward Mbaye Niang. According to Italian source Tutto Mercato Web the Hammers are in pole position to lure the Frenchman to the Premier League after French outfit Montpellier opted against a second loan bid.
The 19-year-old got his name on the scoresheet on four occasions for the Ligue 1 side after being deemed surplus to requirements by the San Siro giants.
Milan are ready to embark on a summer clear-out after a bitterly disappointing domestic campaign which saw them finish the season in eighth position in the Serie A table.
Head coach Clarence Seedorf is likely to be replaced only four months after taking the job, with Filippo Inzaghi in line to take over, but Niang’s status at the club has seemingly not changed and he is available to leave.
