Liverpool defender Daniel Agger could be on his way out of Anfield this summer after being told he doesn’t feature in Brendan Rodgers’ plans, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The Denmark international has been at the club since 2006, and has long been considered an important member of the first-team, though he has fallen out of favour with Rodgers for much of this season. Agger was left on the bench for yesterday’s draw with Crystal Palace, with the Reds boss neglecting even to bring him on when defending a lead, with Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho clearly struggling. Big names such as Barcelona have been linked with the 29-year-old in recent times, and they may now be able to land him on a cut-price fee as Liverpool look likely to revamp their defence this summer after continued poor displays in that department this season. Despite sitting top of the Premier League, Liverpool have the worst defensive record in the top five, and Agger may not be the only member of the back four to make way this summer.

My understanding is that the club will accept offers for Agger this summer, a source close to the club explained. “Rodgers doesn’t have him in his plans for next season and wants to make a few changes at the back. “
