Manchester United have abandoned plans to sign several players targeted by sacked boss David Moyes and will start their summer wishlist from scratch, FootballDirectNews.com understands. A source close to Old Trafford told FDN Everton defenders Seamus Coleman and John Stones, Tottenham Hotspur wideman Andros Townsend and Borussia Monchengladbach striker Max Kruse were all on the Scot’s radar.
He had high hopes of buying all four men and United were prepared to back him in the next transfer window, but when results did not improve they dismissed him this week. Veteran midfield man Ryan Giggs has taken over as interim manager but the Red Devils plan to put together a new and extensive list of targets when they appoint a permanent successor to Moyes.
The club insider said the type of players they pursue could differ drastically depending on the identity of the new boss.

While bookmakers’ favourite Louis van Gaal could target several Dutch internationals currently operating in his Holland squad ahead of the World Cup, Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp could raid the Bundesliga if he decides to take the helm in Manchester. According to the source, United are keen to make the appointment sooner rather than later in order to compete in the transfer market.
