Wenger’s long term interest in Spanish youngster Alvaro Morata has seen him linked with a move in the last two to three transfer windows but a deal is yet to be reached between Arsenal and Real Madrid.
Though reports have said that the French coach is in constant contact with the La Liga giants over Morata’s availibility, his own future is currently being questionned, leaving a potential summer move in doubt. And, added to that circumstance, Wenger has now been told by officials in Madrid that he has to act quick or face losing out to Italian side Inter Milan, who have shown similar interest.
The 21-year-old has made just one La Liga start this season with his other 17 appearances coming from the substitutes bench. But, Inter have remained keen and are due to fly to the Spanish capital in the coming weeks to discuss terms over a potential summer deal. One sticking point for the Italian club may be the fact that Madrid will not sell without a buy-back clause in a similar deal that saw Daniel Carvajal move to Bayer Leverkusen two seasons ago and the return to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
