Arsenal are now joint with Manchester United for most appearances in the FA Cup final after beating Wigan Athletic on penalties at Wembley on Saturday.

The Gunners held their nerve after a stern test from the Championship outfit to put away all four of their spot-kicks, sending them to the final for the first time since they won the competition in 2005 – also their most recent piece of silverware. Arsenal have now appeared in 18 finals, the same amount as United, and can also match the Red Devils’ record of 11 wins in the competition if they can beat Hull City on the 17th of May.

Arsene Wenger’s side will certainly be the favourites against the Tigers, and can take confidence from their impressive record in this competition, with three wins in their last three appearances in the final.
Hull, on the other hand, will be playing in the FA Cup final for the first time in their history, though they will take heart from Wigan’s incredible upset in last season’s final win over Manchester City.

Arsenal and Hull will also meet in the Premier League next weekend before their big game at Wembley next month.
