Ajax manager Frank de Boer has thrown his hat into the ring to manage Liverpool.
The Dutchman said that he would prefer to manage a club like the Merseysiders rather than Barcelona, who do not need to be coached. De Boer, linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, has built a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising young managers having led Ajax to three consecutive Eredivisie titles with a fourth looking likely.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is considering making a second approach for the former Holland international after being turned down earlier in the season when Andre Villas-Boas was sacked.
The Ajax boss has also been linked with a return to former club Barcelona with Gerardo Martino’s position under scrutiny, but the Dutchman doesn’t believe the Catalan giants would be the right fit for him.
