Borussia Dortmund are the latest club to be linked with Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to Fichajes. com.
The 21-year-old is a highly regarded prospect at the Bernabeu, though he has struggled to break past the vast competition for places upfront in Carlo Ancelotti’s side, with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema ahead of him in the pecking order. Still, Morata has done well to notch up five goals and one assist this season despite limited appearances, with the Spaniard starting just two games in all competitions. A host of top clubs have recently been linked with the youngster, with Arsenal still believed to be keen on signing him despite missing out on a loan move for him in January, while Italian sides Juventus and Inter Milan are also admirers of his.
However, Dortmund are also in the market for a striker this summer as they prepare to bid farewell to star player Robert Lewandowski, who will be leaving on a free transfer to rivals Bayern Munich. Jurgen Klopp’s side have also been linked with the likes of Olivier Giroud and Adrian Ramos in a bid to solve their problems upfront, but may now move for Morata as he seems likely to be available.
