Manchester United could move for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris if David de Gea leaves the club, FootballDirectNews.com understands.
The French international has been an impressive performer for Spurs since signing for the club from Lyon last summer, where he had attracted attention from plenty of big clubs around Europe.
The 27-year-old now looks to be in demand again, with rumours suggesting he could look to quit Tottenham if they fail to qualify for the Champions League this season, which is now looking increasingly unlikely as they sit eight points behind rivals Arsenal in fourth spot. United are also in a fight to stay in Europe after a disappointing season, but the reigning champions may still be seen as a step up for Lloris, who has also been targeted by the likes of Napoli, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. Spurs will be determined not to lose a key player to a rival, though they may be giving up on keeping the talented shot-stopper at White Hart Lane with reports that they are already considering the likes of Asmir Begovic and Alphonse Areola as replacements between the posts. United, meanwhile, remain hopeful of keeping de Gea, though it is thought that he could be keen to move to Real Madrid, who are looking for a replacement for unsettled star Iker Casillas.
