In an exclusive interview, Liverpool striker Luis Suarez’s agent has told FootballDirectNews.com that the Uruguayan will not join Manchester City this summer. Reports in Spanish newspaper Marca claimed the Blues’ director of football, Txiki Begiristain, had reached an agreement to sign the 27-year-old in one of the biggest transfers in Premier League history.

However, the player’s agent, Pere Guardiola – brother of Bayern Munich head coach Pep – told FDN that anxious Reds supporters should ignore the speculation, which spread like wildfire in the English media today, and assured them that their talisman is going nowhere.
He said: “There is no truth whatsoever in the story about Luis and City.

“People should just forget about it because Luis is very happy at Liverpool and is staying there. ”Suarez is hot favourite to land a host of awards at the end of the campaign, having fired Brendan Rodgers’ men into the heart of the title battle.
He is the Premier League’s top goalscorer with 25 strikes to his name, and penned a long-term contract at the start of this term after Liverpool saw off strong interest from rivals Arsenal.
