West Ham news: Collins fit
19th November 2013 4:49pm GMT
West Ham United's injury woes have eased with the news that defender James Collins will be fit for the London derby against Chelsea this weekend.
The Hammers are currently struggling in the Premier League, not helped by a number of significant injuries.
Andy Carroll's long term heel problem has been their most serious but Winston Reid's ankle problem could keep him out for up to ten weeks and Ricardo Vaz Te's dislocated shoulder could sideline him for 12.
And when central defender James Collins left the Wales international squad there were serious fears that he too would be missing from the weekend game against Chelsea.
But SportsDirect News learned exclusively this afternoon (19 November) that the 30-year-old would be fit and that there is also positive news regarding midfielder Alou Diarra who was thought likely to miss the rest of the season.
It is a major boost for the club with a source telling us: "James was taken out of the squad for precautionary reasons and will be fit for Saturday.
"Alou has made an amazing recovery, he has declared himself fit and is likely to be involved - probably in the bench."
