Arsenal news: Gunners tracking Belgian striker
4th November 2013 10:00pm GMT
Arsenal are understood to be keeping tabs on Belgian youngster Michy Batshuayi, who plays for Standard Liege.
The 20-year-old made his debut for Standard Liege in February 2011 and has since gone on to score 18 league goals in his two full seasons in the Belgian Pro League.
Batshuayi has started this season in a rich vein of goalscoring form – netting 10 times in 14 appearances so far and his prowess in front of goal has alerted current Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is monitoring Batshuayi’s progress at Standard Liege, a source has told SportsDirect News, and has been impressed with his displays for the Belgian club.
The teenager helped Liege qualify for the Europa League last term and has already found the net twice in five European appearances this season.
Swansea City also hold an interest in the Belgian under-21 international and the Welsh club reportedly made a £2.5 million bid for his signature over the summer but their offer was rejected.
