Hammer Carroll making rapid progress
17th October 2013 12:16pm BST
West Ham United striker Andy Carroll is on the road to recovery and on course for a November return to first team action.
SportsDirect News can reveal exclusively that the £15 million summer signing has had the surgical boot removed which has been protecting his heel and that he is pain-free for the first time in months.
He has now started runnning and remains free of any reaction following top attention at a Belgian clinic and now back home.
There now is no question that unless the player suffers an unforseen problem - which is considered unlikely - he will be back in a Hammers shirt in November.
It is unlikely he will make the Aston Villa game at the beginning of the month but there's a chance he could be ready for the game against Norwich City on 9 November.
But we can reveal that there will be "bitter disappointment all round" if he isn't definitely involved in the clash against Chelsea on the 23rd.
A source revealed: "It's good news all the way at the moment. He's happy and making a very good recovery indeed."
