Arsenal set sights on 'new Fellaini'
13th June 2013 11:32am BST
Arsenal will turn their attentions to highly-rated Belgian Bernard Malanda-Adje should their efforts to sign Everton's Marouane Fellaini fail.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has identified the Toffees midfielder as one of his primary targets this summer but there has been little progress in securing a deal for the Belgian.
Wenger has drawn up a back-up plan in the shape of 18 year-old Zulte Waregem midfielder Bernard Malanda-Adje, the man he sees as the perfect player to fill the void left by Alex Song who left for Barcelona last season.
Adje currently plays his football in Belgium and has caught the eye of a number of clubs last season, including Manchester United. The 18-year-old - dubbed the "new Fellaini" - also plays for the Belgian U-21 side and is highly rated in his homeland.
Ideally Wenger would like to sign Fellaini in the coming weeks, but should a pursuit of the towering forward prove fruitless it is understood that the Gunners will move fast to secure a deal for Adje.
